D30-3012 1938 Dress

7-piece hand-drafted pattern originally from Simplicity, 'A new high in fashion are these frocks.  The V-necked bodice and skirt are in one, cut bias in front and straight in back.  Back laps over front at shoulders to give a yoke effect.  Style 1 is a dramatic contrast, fullness is held at waist by wide a belt; short sleeves.  Style 2 may have its fullness taken by a cluster of shirring at waistline; or be held with a belt.  Sleeves are long or short.  Side zipper placket; sleeve stiffening for short sleeves'. 

3/4" seams are given at underarm (all side) seams and 1/2" seams are given on all other edges.

Size 14 fits 32" bust, 26" waist, 35" hip.
